Many words in Spanish and English are similar, but similar words can have very different meanings, so be careful.

'Do you know the sound of rain on a tin roof?' is conocer; 'Do you know how to change a tire?' is saber.

Something is "propio" when it is one's own, or belongs to someone or something being discussed.

"Edad" can mean the age (e.g., in years) of a living thing, or an "age" of history: 'La Edad de Oro' ('The Golden Age')
